The Jolly Roger had made a stop at the Horn of Africa to pillage a village. To Pippa's understanding, they would be docking in Neverland soon after. She was rather thankful for this turn of events, especially since she had been left behind at the ship for this venture. She was quite sure that it was because the Captain believed that there might be active fighting this time around and she was not suited for the task. As a result, she had been left with a few other crew members to watch the ship.

It was a dull business, especially it was more of her watching the ship. As the time had passed, the two others who were with her had broken out some alcohol and had gotten drunk off their asses before falling asleep. Idiots. She hoped the Captain punished them.

Huffing, Pippa turned her attention to the expanse before her, a small blade tightly clutched in her grasp.

we all fall down into the fire

Three days. It took three days for that blond boy to finally stop following him everywhere he went like some long lost puppy. At first Asheton did not mind the company, but after the millionth question that came his way that started to change rather quickly. He was actually quite pleased when the boy decided to leave, saying that he needed to go find someone. Rather someones. Who they were, he did not bother asking. He was just happy that he would finally able to have peace and quiet that he missed for the last seventy-two hours. Deep down, he knew that this quietness would not last. From what he guess, that boy would one day come back. He just hoped it wasn't any time soon.

As fast as he possibly could, he left the town where the blond ended up leaving his side. There was no where he special he planned to go as of now. All he truly wanted was just somewhere with no one to bother him. After the last three days, having some time alone would be great.

What felt like forever it seemed, he wondered around aimlessly until he found himself at looked to be some kind of port town. Lucky him. It looked somewhat of a peaceful place to relax. Not really counting the town that had been across from him. Later on, he would go scope out to see what the town was like. But none of that really matter to Asheton as of now. All that mattered to him now was hat he found an area not filled with people who could possibly bother him for whatever stupid reason. For now though he moved himself over to some trees that were not too far from him. Once there, he seated himself down onto the ground, leaning his back against one of the trees. He merely watched the ocean in front of him with his arms crossed, enjoying the moment.

Pippa was bored. Capital B bored. Thing one and Thing two were unconscious and she was pretty sure that they were not going to be waking up anytime soon. While this was fine by her, it also appeared as though the ship was completely safe. She was pretty sure she cold leave, except that this idea sounded just as suicidal as if the ship were attacked. After all, she was currently its only protection. She was pretty sure that two unconscious pirates- or worse, two pirates with hangovers- would be rather useless in a fight.

She was half tempted to take out her journal when she spotted some movement. Oh shit. What did she do? She wasn't trained for this! The most she had been taught was a bit of self defense, not how to defend a ship by herself. She was the last person anyone should choose for a last stand. After all, she was still just learning how things worked aboard the ship. Who the hell told a cabin boy to protect the ship anyway?

Right she should hide or something. However, with one look at her sleeping companions, she decided that that would be a terrible idea. No doubt they would rat her out of she dared to do such a thing. But...still. What did a pirate do in a situation like this?

"You there." she yelled, doing her best to keep her balance on the side of the ship. Trying her best to look intimidating, she pointed her blade forward at the stranger. "Who are-ahhh!"

Her foot slipped and with a yell she fell off the side of the boat. Mulishly, she rose from the water, looking decidedly displeased and pouty.

Totally not epic.

It seemed he had not been alone. Not in the slightest. He somehow missed the fact that there was a pirate ship that was rather closer to him than what he liked. Apparently there were others here. A lot of others by the looks of it, judging by the size of the damn thing. Much to his surprise that he would end up running into pirate ship of all things. It was something that Asheton did not know existed anymore. From what he knew, pirates were a thing of the past. Most of them were wiped out back when he was a pirate and that was lifetimes ago. To think he would run into such things now. From the looks of it, whoever ran the ship and its crew were elsewhere, doing who knows what. Otherwise it was likely they would have picked a fight with him.

The quiet time he wanted did not last for very long. A voice that sounded like it had came from the ship had called out to him. Asheton naturally ignored the voice and merely continued on with focusing his purple gaze back onto the ocean ahead of him. He did not have the patience for this.

Out of nowhere, the sound of a splash came from the direction of the ship. He didn’t so much as glance at what occur. He knew what happened without having to look. Just classy. What pirate was dumb enough to fall of a ship? One thing had been certain. Whoever that pirate was, they were clearly no threat at all. He would have nothing to worry about.

Asheton stayed silent, continuing with watching the ocean completely ignoring the fact that Pippa was even there.

Grumbling, Pippa trudged her way to the shore. She was soaked to the bone and a grimace came to her face as she took in her clothing. The thin material of her shirt was wet and cold, showing what lay underneath. Holding up the blade in her hand, she cast it a disgusted look before casting it aside. She felt quite miserable and the only silver lining was that she had not had the journal on her actual person. After all, she was quite sure that if she had it would be ruined. It was, in the end, just a normal artifact, in protected from magic and the like.

Just as the stranger paid her no mind, Pippa decided that she would pay him no mind. As such, he trudged her way near him before she rolled her shirt up just slightly. She made to squeeze out the water from it, uncaring as to whether any, or even the majority of it, got onto the stranger.

Perhaps she had been slightly lying about the not minding part.

Luck had clearly been against him for the past week. All he wanted was peace and quiet for once. For no one to bother him for at least a couple of hours. But no. Life decided to throw a loud, annoying blond at him for three days straight and now a dumb pirate who was skilled enough to fall off a ship. Things could have been worse. Asheton knew that much from past experiences. That ship could have been filled with a whole crew, not, from what he could tell, one unskilled moron. A light sigh left him. Maybe he should got see if that pirate was alright or not. He would rather not be in business of saving people. Well... Now that he thought about it maybe not. That moron was a pirate nonetheless. They should be able to handle a fall like that.

Before the man was able think on what he should do with this situation he found himself in, he found that the other finally managed to come back crawling onto the shoreline. At least he wouldn’t have to save anyone tonight. He was thankful that idiot managed to come out of that smart move without getting somehow hurt. Whatever the case, it was not his problem now. With that thought in mind. Asheton brought his purple gaze back onto what was in front of him. That, however, did not last very long. In the corner of his eye, he saw that the other was approaching him. He quickly readied himself for a fight just in case. He would send a blast of wind at them if they decided to do anything funny.

What happened next, threw him off. By no means was he expecting what Pippa did next in the slightest. What Asheton had in mind was the complete opposite of what happened. The very same moron who fell off the ship made their way over to him to only ring out their soaked clothing all over him. Instantly, he got back up to his feet. He almost sent a wind blast, but stopped himself once he finally got a good look at the other. He… No. It was definitely a she. She was a child. Rather she looked to be one to him. “That’s a first. Shouldn’t you be- I dunno- attacking me?” He commented dryly, glaring down at Pippa.

There was something that honestly bothered him here. The one in front of him clearly did not have the normal pirate vibe coming from her. He felt something entirely different from her. Shaking that thought off, he glanced down at his clothing. He should do something about this. Without thinking, Asheton sent a fair amount of wind through his clothes to dry them off. Seeing as how that was done and over with, he brought his gaze back onto Pippa. “Is there something you want or could I go back to what I was doing?”

Rather quickly, the stranger jumped to his feet. Pippa blinked, pausing for a moment as she gazed at the man with a level of appraisal. After all, most people did not have reflexes that fast. In fact, she was quite sure that a few of the pirates on the hip were lacking in such skills. In a way, she was relatively envious. She was not exactly the most skilled, only having come aboard the Jolly Roger six months ago. A blade was something foreign to her and using it more so.

She paused at his words, frowning slightly. "Why would I do that?" she asked, genuinely curious, "I just have to protect the ship and you aren't exactly attacking. Just sort of...sitting there- like a log. Not really an enemy, the way I see it." Or, she was pretty sure he wasn't. After all, he had not done anything yet. If she was wrong then she was pretty sure she would lose whatever fight might ensue.

Pippa's eyes were instantly drawn to the stranger as he dried his clothes...as if by magic. She gasped loudly, an excited gleam entering her eyes. "How did you do that?" she asked, a bright expression replacing her gloomy one, "Was it magic?" she began to ask rabidly, "What else can you do? What are you? Are you human?"

we all fall down into the fire

While he was very tempted to take that ship for his own, he would prefer to not fight off a group of pirates all on his lonesome. Asheton knew he could likely take them all on without trouble but he had no reason to. It would be too much of an effort honestly. There was also the fact that he could not sail a ship by himself. So in all, the action would be a dumb, pointless one. He had no reason to bother. Besides, he came here to get some time alone. Not to start going back to his old pirate ways. The only thing that was keeping him from getting that alone time would be the girl right in front of him. A girl that confused him the moment she came over to him.

She had a point there. He had done nothing that would be worth attacking him for. He would have likely been just sitting there; enjoying the view if she hadn’t rang out her clothes all over him. But for being a pirate, she was kind of too trusting. He could have easily kill her right then and there if he so wished to. Of course, Asheton didn’t. He did not have the heart to do such things anymore unless it was to defend himself or someone else. He would not kill for his own gain. Not anymore. “You shouldn’t assume if someone is an enemy or not.” He replied back. “For all you know, I could be planning something.”

It was not the smartest idea for him to show off his powers. He was against doing so with Luke because of his likely reaction to it. He should have known it would be the same with Pippa here. Honestly, he basically traded one for the other. She flooded him with so many questions that Asheton did not want or feel like answering. He was sick of answering questions. He did so for the past three days nonstop.

He groaned, a frown worming its way onto his face. “Stop with all the questions already.” He started out harshly. He had half the mind to simply walk away to find somewhere else to relax at. Yet he doubted that Pippa would leave him alone after his display of magic.

A heavy sigh left him. “First of all, do I look human to you? Second, I dunno how I do it. I just can. It’s an ability I got after I-“ He stopped himself from going further. It would not be a good idea to tell some that he died long ago. That certainly won’t blow over too well. It never did with most people. Though that did bring up a question he found himself asking. “…How can you see me…? Not many people can. What makes you different from them?”

Pippa paused, considering his words. She had not actually considered that. After all, it had seemed a bit more rational for someone interested in taking a boat to be a bit more direct about it. Of course, she could hardly know if her shipmates would agree. The ones that had been left with her seemed to be idiots who thought they might not be attacked at all despite the fact that the Captain was going into territory where he believed that a fight would happen.

"Wait," she said, a thought suddenly coming to mind, "If you were going to trick me, you would not warn me about being tricked. You would just trick me. Warning me makes me suspicious- or more suspicious, I suppose. Warning me is counterproductive." Of course, he did have a slight point, but he was wrong that he could be a threat. He was pretty much continuing to prove that he was not one.

Besides, it was not like she really trusted him. She barely trusted her own parents after all.

The more carefree attitude that had come to the surface disappeared almost just as quickly. Shrinking back at his tone, she scowled. Fine," she snapped, before grumbling to herself, "I was just curious. Grouchy old man."

She rose an eyebrow at his questions. Was he...being serious? "Uh, have you not looked in the mirror recently? You look pretty human, not that that means anything. If you picked up a book, you might know that." Anyone who knew anything knew that magical beings were perfectly capable of looking normal. In fact, the more dangerous ones usually did. For all she knew, he was really a witch who wanted to drown. Though...did witches drown people? She was pretty sure that was more of a fae thing...and like...a million other magical creatures thing. It was not an exclusive thing, to be honest.

Though, wait, he was talking. "After what?" she said blankly, only catching the last bit, "Or wait, I don't want your life tory. Just tell me the important bits." Though, she was not sure he was listening to her as he had suddenly paused in what he has been saying. Suddenly, he started talking. She rose an eyebrow. "Oh! That's easy! I believe in a lot of things and can see a lot of things. I'm pretty ordinary though. Well, aside from the whole pirate thing. Not many people do that anymore."

Well, well. A smart one, wasn’t she? She had been correct in her assumption that he was not planning on attacking or going to attempt to steal the ship. Asheton had no reason to do either of those things. The ship was a beautiful one, he had to admit to himself, but he did not want to a gang of pirates all on his lonesome for a ship he had no way of controlling on his own. And he was not in the mood to be fighting anyone at the moment. He came here to relax. Not pick pointless fights or return to his old pirate ways. It had merely been a warning for next time. The girl wouldn’t always be so lucky to run into someone like him. Who knows what could happen next time? He would give her a few pointers. It couldn’t hurt.

He nodded his head. “You’re right. I’m not planning on doing anything. There is no reason for me to.” He replied back simply. “Think of it as a warning for next time. You might not be always so lucky.” From the many past experiences he went through, he knew no matter what the other person said it would always be best to keep your guard up and be ready for everything. If you didn’t do so, you were likely to be good as dead before you could even notice. Even though he found Pippa a little of the annoying side of things, he didn’t want her to end up getting herself hurt…. Although she could likely do that herself. She did manage to fall off a ship all by herself without anyone pushing her off.

His tone came out a lot harsher than he first intended. Asheton honestly did not mean it the way it came out. It was just too many questions at once. It was like having that blond here all over again. He made to apologize to the other but stopped when he caught what she said next. …Did she just really call him an old man? To be fair, she was kind of right. He old in the amount of time he lived but when it came to his looks he was certain that he looked to be around thirty or so. “…You know I heard that, right? I am standing right here…” He commented with a sigh. “I’m not that old.”

To be fair, she did have a point. Most immortals or whatever the hell roamed the earth looked to be pretty human. Asheton just didn’t know that she would have known that fact. Most people didn’t after all. However, he should have guessed she would. She was able to see him. He groaned. “You don’t think I know that? I was wrong thinking you didn’t know.” He shrugged his shoulders. Should he tell her what he truly was? That he was a ex pirate that died more than three hundred years ago? He did tell Luke though the boy already knew a lot about him compared to the girl before him now. “I’m an immortal. Happy now?”

Maybe it had been a mistake to answer the girl’s questions. It only made her ask questions than what the man actually wanted to answer. That is not truly what bothered him here though. No, far from it. What really bothered Asheton was the fact that she asked for the important bits of his life without so much of giving her name or asking what his was.

“Important bits…” He echoed, making a face. As best as he could he tried to keep his tone less threatening than before. “You want me to tell you about my life when you didn’t bother giving out your name or asking what mine is?” A heavy sigh left him not a second later. He was being too harsh. All she wanted to know was more about him. He was probably going to regret this. “Fine. I’ll answer all the questions you have to the best ability that I can do. But. You are going to have return the favor. What do you say?”

That is how she’s able to see him. To think a stupid reason like that would make someone be able to see him without any trouble. It was better than nothing. It was better than having no one able to see him. He would have gone insane by now if the population just walked through him like he never existed in the first place. Now that question was answered… he had another thing that bothered him greatly. “Why are there still pirates around? From what I know all of them had been wiped out… What is someone like you with a bunch of pirates in the first place?” His second question had been none of his business. Asheton knew that but he just couldn’t help it. She didn’t seem like the piratey type.

Pippa merely shrugged in response. "Probably won't be a next time," she admitted, "I'm usually stuck in the kitchen or, if I'm unlucky, on raids." Of course, everyone knew to be cautious on a raid unless they were half drunk morons. As for the kitchen, that seemed like a fairly good place to only be cautious in when the ship was only empty. Outside of that, there were the instances where she was off the ship. However, there was no reason to mention that.

She gave him a skeptical look at his words. "Sure you aren't," she said lightly, "I already know people can look my age and be about nine-hundred. For all I know, you could be five times my age. That is old in my books." Even if they were going by appearances, he did look a bit old. He looked almost twenty years older than her.

Her lips split into a happy smile at his words. Of course, the guy was still a bit grouchy. However, it was a bit easy to ignore as long as he was not actively cruel. In that manner, she could pretend it was almost like the pirates. Though, they were actually a bit cruel. Yes," she said simply.

She shrugged at his complaint. "You didn't ask," she pointed out. In many respects, she would not have entirely minded. However, giving information was not something that often came to her mind unless someone mentioned it first. She tilted her head before shrugging. "Sure."

She gave him a rather peculiar look. "You don't pay attention to the news much, huh?" Then again, perhaps she should not be too surprised. From what she had come to understand, magical beings seemed to live in their own little world and none of them seemed to pay much attention to what was going on with humans unless it affected them. "Pirates have been around for awhile. Probably not as much as before, of course, but I know that I have seen articles about them being busy for a fair amount of the 21st century. Of course, they are mostly in Africa and Asia." She paused. "Though, I figure you mean these pirates? This is the Jolly Roger. You know, Captain Hook, etc, etc."

Her expression shifted into something a bit sheepish when the topic turned towards her. "By...accident?" She offered a nervous laugh. "I didn't realize I was sneaking onto a pirate ship and ended up as a cabin boy once I got caught."

we all fall down into the fire
- - and my wishes have all come true
By the sounds of things, his helpful advice would go to waste. Knowing that fact, however, did not seem to bother Asheton at all. He was actually quite glad to hear that. The idea that this young girl not getting in some sort of trouble was something he preferred to happen. From what he can tell from her, she was not much of a fighter like he was at her age. Actually by the way she acted, it seemed as if she honestly knew close to nothing about fighting as a whole. She was the opposite of how a pirate should and would be acting. She would be better off in the kitchen as that was usually one of the safest places aboard of a pirate ship. It was for his ship anyway. It could certainly be different for that one.

Raids on the other hand, well, those things were a whole different matter entirely though the man figured he should not bother her anymore. She likely already knew what and what not to do during those. “The kitchen is usually the safest place anyhow.” He replied back. “You shouldn’t have much trouble there.” Back when he was merely a cabin boy it was one of the many duties he was assigned. It didn’t last long- maybe a week if he remembered right- before the whole crew found out just how badly he was when it came to cooking any kind of food. “As long as you know how to cook.”

A heavy sigh left him when the subject changed onto the matter of how old he was. The man was certain he was not that old. When it came to other immortals, he was on the younger side compared to most. He was hardly pressing past three hundred years. Even when it came to his looks he knew for a fact he didn’t look that old. He died during his early thirty’s. That was not old.

“I’ll have you know when it comes to other immortals, I am fairly young.” He explained. The question of whether or not he should be truthful came made its way into his mind. She knew more than most so it was likely that she wouldn’t freak out if he told her his real age. “If I remember correctly, I am only three hundred thirty-one years old.” What age he died at, he decided to keep that information to himself for the moment. It depended on how she acted whether or not he would tell such things.

He didn’t ask? That’s why she didn’t bother giving out her name? What the hell was that? It was common courtesy to give out your name before demanding for the other person to start giving away their life story. It was rude of her to even be asking for the so-called important parts of his life. Asheton hated talking about his past. About everything he done and went through. The subject was one he tried to avoid thinking about all costs. He didn’t feel comfortable with anyone to be talking about his past. He could feel his anger flaring up. Oh. He wanted to say so many things. A lot of things that he would likely regret which was why he choice to fight it off rather than letting his temper loose onto Pippa.

It took a moment or two before Asheton was able to calm himself. She could ask him anything she wanted so long as it did not involve his past. He didn’t talk about it with that annoying blond; he would do the same for her. “Asheton Hollins. That’s what I go by nowadays.” He started out flatly. “As for the important bits of my life, I’m not telling you. What I’ve done and been through is my business and my business alone. Everything besides my past is fair game.”

The news? Purple eyes blinked. Should he be paying attention to that crap? He was dead, so he honestly did not see the need to know what was going on with what the mortals of today were doing. It wasn’t like he had a means to pay attention even if he wanted to. He traveled far too often for that. He merely shrugged his shoulders. “Can’t say that I do.” He started off only to stop at the mention of pirates still being around. He did not like the sound of that. He guessed the pirates of today were much different from back in his time. They would obviously have different reasons for wanting to live that lifestyle.

Before he could say anything on the matter, however, Pippa continued with her explanation. He glanced over towards the ship. It looked to be similar to the ones that sailed during his time as a captain though he didn’t really understand how that could be. Whoever this captain hook guy was probably snuck his way to continue his life as a pirate or beat the system some other way. “Haven’t heard of him.” He replied back, bring his purple gaze back onto Pippa. “That hardly means anything though I never paid much attention to other pirate captains back then unless they picked a fight with me or we were friends.”

That’s how she managed to end up on a pirate ship. Asheton knew she didn’t belong with the likes of pirates. He merely stared at her blankly. This did bring up many more questions. How did she even manage to sneak on a ship by accident? Someone was obviously not doing their job. “How do you accidentally sneak onto a pirate ship? More importantly, where the hell are your parents?” There were so many things he wanted to know though he chose to just keep it at those two questions until he got answers that he wanted.

He doesn’t know how to shut it

Pippa nodded in agreement. "Good thing I can cook then," she joked. Normally, the kitchen was relatively safe even in regards to the other pirates. Moreover, the Jolly Roger was not a ship that normally got attacked due to the nature of the vessel. As she was quickly learning, the only people she really had to worry about were Captain Hook and Peter Pan and his Lost Boys. Outside of that she would likely be able to handle herself well enough as long as she did not wander too far.

The man seemed to be rather sensitive about his age and she was not entirely sure why. Not talking about his history made some sense. After all, she had no idea who this man was and for all she knew he had a terrible past. Besides, it was not as if your average joe always wanted to talk about their lie as well. Age, though, was something that people normally did not care too much about unless they were a touch vain and so far he had not struck her as the sort.

She rose an eyebrow at his claim, finding the insistence even weirder. Sensitive much? "That is old compared to me," she said simply, "Though, I suppose you are a baby compared to Santa Claude or the Tooth Fairy." Of course, she had no idea how old they actually were but chances were that they were a lot older than this guy.

A silence settled for a moment and Pippa got the feeling that she had possibly irritated the man. That would not be too surprising. The mannerisms of pirates had likely been rubbing off on her. Moreover, she had been traveling alone for years. Niceties were something that she was not entirely used to using unless it was needed.

After a moment, he did end up speaking again. She pursed her lips. "My name is Pippa McBride," she said after a moment, "And I don't much care about your past. I only really want to know about you." The guy seemed to be sensitive about it and all so it was probably best to restate that so he understood that she was not snooping around that.

She rose an eyebrow at his proclamation about not reading the news. She supposed that was not too surprising. However, her expression shifted into a fairly confused expression at the mention of the guy having never heard of Captain Hook. Yikes, this guy was out of date, wasn't he? "Er, he's known from the stories about Peter Pan," she said before shaking her head, "If I remember correctly, he used to be part of Blackbeard's crew back in the day." Or, so the original story went. She was not so keen on actually figuring out if that was true or not. "It's not that important I guess."

A frown crossed her face at his questions, rather taken aback by them. "I'm twenty-three," she snapped, not particularly liking the implication about her parents, "And it was placed in an area where it was easy to mistake it for something more mundane obviously."

Everything should be good then. He had no reason to be worrying about the girl’s well being then. It was being more and more clear that she understood what to do and not do while spending time on a pirate ship. As long as one actually knew what they were doing in the kitchen it was by far the safest place to be on a pirate ship other than the captain’s quarters. When it came to food on a pirate ship, it was a life or death situation. It was one of the many reasons back as a captain, Asheton was a lot stricter when it came to feeding the crew and not wasting any bit of food they were lucky to come across. It would likely be the same for the individual who commanded over that ship. In this day and age, he imagined it would much more difficult to get supplies.

The man merely nodded his head. She should be safe in the long run as long as what she said was actually true. “For your sake, I hope you do.” He replied back. Without so much as a another word, he inched back to the tree he was originally near and leaned against it. He was bit on the tired side. Those three days, it was hard to get any sleep without finding himself getting poked and asked more questions. He was beginning to feel sorry for the people that blond went to go find. Well. At least it was them and not him. He would have lost his temper eventually.

A frown made its way onto his face at the mention of being old. Asheton did guess she did have a fair point. He was pushing it past three hundred years now but that technically wasn’t his fault. He didn’t know whose fault it even was in the first place. Whatever the case, he did not like being called old. Why that was? Well, he didn’t really understand it but the way it sounded just made him feel weird. The whole thought of even being able to live this long without so much as aging a day is not something he ever grew used. It was likely that he never would. “Yes. Well. You’re still alive while I’m technically not.” He stated with a sigh. “Compared to them I’m probably nothing but a child.”

How amazing. She actually did have a name. Even more amazing she actually gave it out after all this time. Before he could say anything, her next few words caught his attention. His purple eyes blinked in confusion. Know more about him without him talking about his past? He didn’t really understand it. It didn’t make any sense to him. How did that work? He was starting to think that he didn’t want to know. He hated talking about himself. He isn’t anything special. Not anymore at least.

“More about me? How so?” He finally asked. “If it’s about my powers, I can’t tell you much. I don’t understand it much other than that I have this connection to the wind and air around me.” Despite being alive as long as he has, he was still in the processing of figuring out his powers and how to use them to fight. Every day he practice to get better.

Still he had no idea who Pippa was talking about. Not once during his life had he ever heard about the peter pan stories. He could have at one point though it was clearly not something Asheton deemed worthy enough to actually remember. “I’ve had a couple run ins with Blackbeard before but not once did I have come across this Hook guy.” He explained with a slight shrug of his shoulders. “I probably did hear of those stories but I don’t remember.”

One thing that the man certainly did not expect was the fact that the one before him to be twenty-three. It actually managed to catch him off guard. He had thought she was a teenager, not someone who was an legal adult. “I apologize. I thought you were a teenager.” He quickly replied back. Now he felt bad. At her age, he was already captain of his own ship and commanded his own crew. Which reminded him. “Because that ship doesn’t look like the ones that were sailing from when I was a pirate. Just where the hell were you anyway?” It hadn’t occurred to him just yet that he slipped up and admitted something about his past. Nope. His mind was focused on other matter entirely.

Pippa rolled her eyes. "Gee, thanks for the optimism," she said flatly. While she knew he was correct- after all, the captain was not a kind man and she doubted any pirate was as swell either- he did seem to be contradicting himself. Claiming that she could do it if his son had was nice and all, but going back on that and claiming he hoped she did in an ominous tone kind of destroyed anything nice on the subject he had said. "Just makes me feel all sorts of confident."

She rose an eyebrow at what he said about his age and...being alive? Well, she had to hand it to this guy. When he was weird he was really weird. After all, she was pretty sure that he was alive by the technical definition. "Riiight. I don't know what definition you are going by, but I am pretty sure you are alive. After all, you seem to be breathing to me." She rolled her eyes. "So you are a baby compared to Santa Clause. So what? I'm pretty sure the only people who care are assholes. Pretty late for a mid-life crisis, dude. Wait until you are at least a millennium old."

She rose an eyebrow. Didn't know much about his powers? Well, she supposed that he had not been exaggerating about being a baby immortal. After all, a few centuries being alive seemed like more than enough time to learn about one's magic in her mind. However, perhaps it did not work like that? It was a bit hard to tell. the magic she had learned about all seemed to be quite different, each working by its own logic. Perhaps he was just a slow learner?

"Powers, personality, do you like long walks on the beach? I did say I just want to know about you." She did pause at the mention of Blackbeard. "Woah wait, you ran into Blackbeard? Hm wait...that would have been around the end of his life, right? He died around the early 18th century...I think." Dropping out of high school had not exactly helped with her knowledge of history. "So, he could have either left long before you ran into him." Well, that or fiction was wrong. Both were completely plausible.

She sighed. "Yeah, you and everyone else." She supposed that she should be grateful. After all, most people wished that they looked younger than they were. However, she was pretty sure that there was a big difference between being forty and being mistaken as thirty, and being twenty-three and often being mistaken as an underage boy. It was infuriating. She would grow her hair out if it were not for how much of a mess her hair became when it was long.

"Well, probably not," she admitted, "I imagine that it has been designed in a different matter because of the magic the Captain has imbued into it." Or, that was her latest theory anyway. It seemed like the most logical. After all, the damn ship could fly. "You mean right now or normally? Cause normally this thing is in Neverland, not that you've heard of it clearly."

do you ever see? all the castles in the sky
