Koda / @NICO / tell me if anything needs to be changed
Giraloma had begun to settle into a form of normality. Jacob had brought her back to New York City after she had returned to Burgess. The entire meeting with Ryder had been far worse than she could have imagined it. While the blonde had warned her that they did not get along, she had not imagined that things would go from tense to violence in a matter of silence. Being who she was, the youth had naturally not stood for it! While she was convinced that the elder male was her father, she would not put up with violence from him. After all, Jacob was someone that she had come to like. From there things had settled into an awkwardness that had led her to her current situation: being raised by the man she had been returned to.

It was an interesting situation. While the man did not entirely know what he was doing, it was enough for the young girl. After all, she had never had a parent before and had dreamed of the day that she might find her father. The entire situation, in her own mind, was perfectly ideal, flaws and all.

Well...mostly.

Ryder had pulled her out of school almost as quickly as he had placed her in it. While he could not realize it, Angel had been causing trouble that had quickly led to a great deal of blame placed on the brunette's head. Not realizing the situation, she was quick to believe them to be lies. Only knowing the girl he was raising, Ryder had pulled her out and was having her homeschooled. It was a nice situation, but also one that led to her having few friends.

As such, Giraloma had taken to exploring New York's streets in her free time. It was a relatively harmless activity. After all, she was being watched by her bodyguard- Steve- from far enough that others would presume he was with her but close enough that she could do what she wished. Glancing around, the youth began heading in the direction that she knew the nearest ice cream parlor was.

thanks!

Koda was slowly becoming accustomed to the city day by day. It was rather thrilling to live here, the sights and sounds. He wondered down the sidewalks, a confidence in his stride. He fiddled with the change he had stolen in his pockets. It was just an ordinary Monday to the young werewolf. He didn't have much else to do, there were no leads on his father's location so that left him absolutely bored. He frowned as he squinted up into the sky. It was a sunny day with only a few puffs of clouds around. Though the air smelled of rain so that meant storms were on the way.

He jumped up onto a nearby low wall and walked along it, ignoring the gripes from older people staring at him. This place wasn't the nicest area, danger in every corner. Though coming from someone who lived in a forest, this was not even closed to the perils of the untamed wilds. The wall ended and he was forced to jump down onto the ground. The area he was now in had some restaurants around, including an ice cream parlor.

That's when he noticed a familiar face. A young girl that used to live with the brats. Gira, he remembered her, he thought of her like a sister for the short time she stayed with them. He looked both ways before darting towards her direction. Falling into step he glanced to see a strong looking man watching over her. Not caring he put his hand in the air and waved it. "Heyo, Gira. Long time no see." he smiled.

We're all animals out in the dark
Got a feeling that we're all believing in Not waiting for daylight to start We're over the moon, over the midnight moon---------------------------------------------------------

Koda / @NICO / ....
Though most of those who Giraloma had once stayed with likely did not know it, Petya had long ago come to hold at least an eye for who she had lived with. It had been a rather difficult part of his job as her bodyguard- something of which she seemed to have replaced with the title nanny due to how often he was put in charge of watching her when Ryder could not- as he been relatively focused on keeping himself out of the picture. Such a decision had been a mistake for several reasons, primarily due to the fact that she had managed to be kidnapped while he was on guard, but it had ended positively.

Or, as positively as a situation that involved him loosing money did.

As a result, he made no move when Koda appeared. The boy was not currently a problem and he was also a familiar face. Giraloma, however, brightened at the sight of the youth. She had not been around many children, as the area where her father lived was not the most child friendly. As a result, she either spent time in doors or went outside with Steve. Unsurprisingly, the surly man tended to be just as good at dissuading people from his presence as he was at attracting them.

"Koda!" she said brightly, closing the short distance between them so that they could speak properly. Without a thought, she made to hug the older child. "How have y-y-y-you been?"

thanks!

Koda was happy to see Gira once again. It had been too quiet around the hide out. When she hugged him he didn't hesitate to hug her back. "I've been fine. Just living day to day." he said and softly let go. "How have you been?" he asked. He had noticed her bodyguard so it was reassuring he knew she was being protected. He wondered if she had found someone to stay with it, he remembered some vague rumor about a father. He wasn't sure how that turned out. Though she looked well taken care of and that's all that mattered.

"How have you been?" he asked. "I haven't seen you ever since you left the hideout." he inquired. Things really hadn't changed there, kids still milling around, stealing things to survive. No one really left without coming back lately. Koda just took his days peacefully. Well as peacefully as you could be as a street rat in New York City.

Koda / @NICO / ....
The questions were not unusual. Admittedly, Giraloma had left without telling anyone and in a manner that she could barely remember. All she knew was that she had managed to get back to Jacob and Jake. From there, the former had brought her back to her dad, Ryder. The thought of it brought forth excitement. After all, she had managed to find her father, someone of whom at least Koda had known she was searching for even while she had been staying with the other kids. She had not had anyone to tell and this was certainly an opportunity to do exactly that.

Unable to keep the excitement off of her face, she beamed at the elder child before leaning in close as if to tell him a secret. "I've b-b-b-been fine, but g-g-guess what?" she said before lowering her voice slightly, "I f-f-f-f-found my dad!"

His eyes widened and he smiled. She had found her dad? That was great to hear! "I'm so happy to hear that Gira!" he almost wanted to pick his peer up and hug her. However, that might not be the best idea. It was always great to see any of the kids on the street find their parents or find a home. They never wanted anyone to stay on the streets. They all wanted to see their brothers and sisters succeed in life. His chest was flooded with warm feelings.

Koda knew himself, that he would never be in that boat. He wouldn't make anything out of himself besides a warrior. Sometimes he even sucked at that. One day he would find his father though, if he was still alive. "It's good to see a friend happy and off the streets." he added.

Truth be told, Giraloma did not realize that there were certain consequences to having found her father. Still quite young and innocent, it did not occur to her that Ryder could be anything other than the individual that she had mentally painted him to be. While she recognized that he had flaws and struggles, he was still heavily idolized within her own mind due to her childish naivety that had not completely vanished despite her struggles.

Though neither of them realized it, the rest of the children would have likely been less happy. It had been a fact that the young girl recognized in the back of her mind, knowing that not all of the children she had once called home actually trusted adults as much as she did. What she did not recognize was how deep this went. She could not begin to know was that Rashid might have recognized the name of her father.

She nodded. To some extent, she knew that Koda could understand. He did not seem to possess the same feelings that everyone else held, even if they were not the same as her own. "How have y-y-you been?" she asked, genuinely curious. It felt like it had been eons since she had spoken to someone around her age, though in reality it had probably only been a few months as the last time she had seen anyone who was part of the brigade had been before she had been snatched away and ended up in Burgess.
