It was starting to become very difficult for him to be patient for much longer. For months now that is the only thing he did. It was hard to focus on his studies when there was too much to worry about. Most of his normal studying time had been replaced with thinking, worrying, and waiting for some kind of news as to what was going on or for Adrian to come back in general. He had so many questions that he needed answers. Kayden wanted to know what had happened. It took him everything to not start demanding answers. He guessed that Byakko knew something about what was going on otherwise she would likely not be here before him. He knew better to demand anything. It would be rude and he already seemed to annoy her to a degree. So he would wait like he has been doing for a while now.
The excitement he held began to disappear little by little. From the many books he read, that tea usually showed a sign that something bad had happen or something of the sort. He couldn’t help but find himself thinking that something went wrong during this trip. It would explain a lot if it were the case. Even more so since this total stranger adventured all the way out to this small village to tell him some sort of news. The blond just hoped that it was not anything that bad. It could be that Adrian got seriously hurt and needed time to heal. That had to be it, right? He wanted to believe that more than anything yet he still felt like that isn’t it. There is the possibly that it could be more than that. He didn’t want to think that way but he shouldn’t throw that possibly away.
All those musing disappeared in a matter of seconds once his orange gaze caught sight of the other suddenly bow. He blinked, not really knowing what to think. Before he had the chance to ask anything, however, her words finally hit him. He froze in his place, his minding running a mile a minute. It couldn’t be true. No, he refused it to be true. All of it had to be some kind of sick joke, right? There no way Adrian could really be dead. It just couldn’t. This had to be some trick. A trick he would not fall for. There was no proof.
He shook his head, desperately. “No. That can’t be true. It just can’t…” Trailing off at the end, the teen did everything in his power to try to keep himself from crying. “If…If is it then why did no one tell me until now? It’s been months! I deserved to know!” It was not every day that Kayden ever raised his voice. This time, he couldn’t help it. there were so many emotions running amok within his head.
