Night was near its fall, as the sun began to dip upon the edges of the horizon. It created a pleasant picture, illuminating the sea a deep red. It was a sight that Pippa found difficult to truly enjoy as the air was filled with a thick chill. Moreover, she was still left to work in the kitchens. While the job offered her comfort, as it required her to do less in the way of what might be considered cruel or downright wrong, it did become unpleasant when she had to help the cook with meals. Dinner, she had come to learn, was the worst. It was when the men were the loudest and heartiest.

Nonetheless, she had no choice to adapt. Dealing with men that she recognized as unpleasant and cruel was a price for a choice that she had been stubborn about keeping to. She had already been offered a way out and rejected it. It would be foolish to complain when she had chosen to keep to this herself.

Time passed normally. Working with the chef meant that she had to have her own dinner within the kitchens. It was something that she was quietly grateful for, as se found the energy that came with being around the rest of the crew tiresome and difficult to be around. She was far too introverted and anxious to enjoy gatherings. A solitary meal was better.

By the time things quieted down, she left to begin cleaning things up. It was a long process, particularly since it was one she had to do on her own, considering that the crew seemed to be lacking in many other cabin boys. It had made her wonder how the menial jobs she often got stuck with were dealt with before she had...joined. Her brow furrowed, mulling over the thought as she began to mop.

She became so enwrapped with her thoughts that she did not notice a shift of movement until it was too late. Before she could gather a full gaze, the world became dark.

The world suddenly became bright; however, this was a fact that Pippa was unable to entirely focus on as she tumbled to the floor. A large feeling of nausea passed through her person, and it took a moment to realize that she was unsure if she had actually woken up or had merely been sent into the light.

Panic came at the thought, something which only grew as she realized she did not recognize her surroundings. The full majesty of them was something she could not focus on, too caught up on the actual problem with the situation. Have I been kidnapped? she thought, her brow furrowing. The idea seemed peculiar and...improbable. It was not as if she had not gotten into equally, if not worse, situations before. In fact, her situation with Hook could easily be considered a kidnapping. It was not as if she had agreed to join him because she liked the idea of being a pirate. No...she simply enjoyed the idea of being alive.

Making her way to her feet, she began trying to think straight. However, any attempt to think and formulate a plan as she took notice of elves and Yeti, the latter of which were quite familiar to her person even if the memories them were slightly foggy.

"...Wait..."

The darkness she had been shrouded in, as cold and terrifying as it was, opened up to a warm, comfortable reality. Pippa was deposited onto a plush red rug with designs of yellow and silver dancing through it. The room was spacious, columns of mahogany wood on either side, leading up to a wall with a mural that, if viewer given time to see, was a man shaking hands with a large hairy creature. On that wall, below the mural was a magnificently sculpted fireplace, in the hearth of which blazed a fire. Before that stretched a table ready for seating ten, as intricately sculpted as the fireplace and of the same mahogany wood as the rest of the room.
All this was far too quickly blotted out as a massive black boot stepped in front of Pippa, then turned to her, shoulder width apart with it's partner. Above her stood, in all his equally intimidating and rustically charming glory, Nicholas St. North. His hands, once positioned as firmly as tree roots (and as thick) on his hips, reached down for the comparably tiny girl. Pippa scooped up from the ground quickly and easily and placed on her feet.
“Pippa McBride!” He greeted with a voice that boomed, laughter trickling behind every syllable. This corners of Norths eyes wrinkles, his cheeks rounding to look like a red Christmas tree ornament. “I am hearing many things about you. Look how you have grown!”
Well, the first part was an over exaggeration. He had heard one specific thing from one specific source. One of his savior believers back from when Jack Frost had become a Guardian was in a bit of a pickle. Ran away from home, joined a pirate crew, Pippa was on her way to being apart of the naughty list. Though she was not quite there, North refused the day that he would find her name there.
North placed a hand on her back, corraling her through the room and to the side of the table closest to the fire. There sat a plate, piled high with cookies of varying shapes and colours and sizes, as well as a glass of milk in front of each chair. North sat himself in the chair to the left and motioned for the head of the table to be taken by Pippa. It was time to have a little talk.

It was a bit difficult not to recognize where Pippa was. While she had never been to the North Pole, she had certainly seen the man himself. He was particularly easy to remember due to both his manner and appearance, being just as jovial as one would expect Santa Clause to be but a bit different in appearance. However, he did feel a bit shorter to the young woman. While she had been fairly tall as a teenager, she had still been dwarfed by the man a decade ago. Now, it was quite clear that she had not stopped growing for what have must have been a few years as she stood what seemed to be only a foot under the Guardian.

Everything passed by quite quickly and it made the entire experience hard to process. She wasn't entirely sure if this was good or bad considering she was fairly sure that she had just been kidnapped and not even in a discreet manner. She was easily scooped up and placed on her feet, as if she weighed nothing, something that she didn't find too surprising since she was quite thin and it was clear that the elder man was far stronger than her.

Her brow furrowed at the greeting. She wasn't entirely sure if she should be happy about the man having heard things about her. After all, she had come across two Guardians recently, one of whom had been Jack Frost. While she had spoken to him about being on the Jolly Roger, she had done that because she had been sure that he wouldn't talk about it behind her back or lecture her. She didn't like the idea that she might have been wrong about that.

"I-uhm- right, hi," she said awkwardly, feeling very much like the young girl who hadn't been able to agree with anything Jamie or the others had suggested without hesitance or awkwardness creeping into her entire being. Pippa was many things, but confidence was far from a strong point of hers. The problem had undoubtedly come from her parents who had seen fit to hover around her for most of her childhood.

Before anything resembling a conversation could even begin, she found herself ushered to a room with a table near a fire. It was clearly made for two people. Hesitantly, she sat down in one. Unsure of how to begin, she stayed quiet.

In the few moments of silence that transpired at they settled at the table (North’s own chair squeaking with protest like he’d sat upon a mouse) they could hear the sound of the workshop. It was a cacophony of music, twinkling, whirring, banging, every sound you could ever think of had to be encased in these walls. It was a surprise that the entire place did not cave in on itself. Thankfully, they were so high up that the sounds were distant, save for some of the flying machines that were being tested this high. It wasn’t too overbearing, and the hearth with a crackling fire and warmth behind Pippa was calming, or at least North thought so.
“Hello, Pippa!” North boomed, clasping his hands in front of him and leaning forward. He took a cookie from the plate, looking like a mini Chips Ahoy from one of their lunch packets because his hand was just so big. When North took a bite, he let out a pleased sigh, crumbs tumbling down his beard. Snacks for later.
He brought up left arm, displaying his tattoo that read ‘Nice’. “You are being here,” he said, tapping on his arm with his other hand. “But I am fearing that one of my best believers is going to be here,” he told her, pointing at his right arm, which read ‘Naughty’. “What is it you are doing on the Jolly Roger with Captain Hook?” He asked, raising both his hands in a questioning motion. “You are being a good girl. Did he take you? Is he blackmailing you?” North leaned forward, thinking of his swords as he did so. His fingers itched for battle at the thought of someone mistreating Pippa (or any child!). There was an intensity in those blue eyes, the softness replaced with the cold of a sharp wind.
The workings of Neverland and their people had always… worried North. It was this strange grey area of whether or not it truly did help children. There was way he could know without speaking to Peter Pan himself what role human children played in Neverland. These children stayed believers forever, but at what cost?
It wasn’t Pan that Pippa had fallen in with however, it was Hook. An untrustworthy pirate that did not care one bit about the safety of children and used them more as leverage than anything. North had to know what Pippa was thinking joining the crew, or if it was even her decision at all.
